After many days of rain, the clouds parted, and we had our first free ECA Open Disc Golf Tournament on May 25. Prizes for champions and door prizes were provided by Butterfield Acres Farm, Flying Squirrel North, Don’s Hobby Shop/Disc Golf, and the ECA.
We had 35 participants, and the weather was sunny and relatively calm. We got in the event before raindrops started to fall. A good time was had by all, and snacks and water were handed out.
The winners were: U9 – Joseph DeMong; U15 – John Paul DeMong; U18 – Max Abad; and Adult – Evan Lawrence.
Thank you to Connie Bouchier for seeking out door prizes and helping to organize the event. We had nine volunteers from the community. It was so much fun; we hope to do it again next year and make it an annual spring event for the community.
