The summer 2026 flowers have been approved!

Even though it’s snowy and white outside, we’re already hard at work planning next season’s selections for the ELM program.

Edenscapes have once again been in the community this season, filling our pots with beautiful winter greenery and decorations. We kindly ask for your help—if you see anyone removing items from the winter displays, please notify us right away at [email protected] or by calling 403-239-1211.

We are also very pleased to share that Foothills will continue to look after our landscaping and ELM projects in 2026. In addition, the ELM program and the community of Edgemont would like to welcome Mark Koelbl, who will be taking over for Shari and caring for our community going forward. Mark has been involved in the ELM program for many years and will be kicking off the 2026 season in Edgemont.

We would also like to acknowledge that Shari Pitka will be stepping away from the management of the ELM program. Shari’s community in Northern Saskatchewan, East Trout Lake, was lost to wildfire this year. She will be focusing her efforts on returning north to assist with rebuilding. We are grateful for her dedication to the community of Edgemont and the ELM program.

As you begin planning any yard renovations for next year, please remember that ELM greatly appreciates donations of perennials in the spring for distribution throughout the community prior to planting the annuals. If you have a donation, simply dig up your perennials in the spring and contact Mark at [email protected] to arrange pickup.

Wishing you a Happy New Year and happy gardening in 2026!

Kathleen Stewart, Rick Wierzbicki, Mark Koelbl
