The days are growing short and cold, and it is time to get the Edgemont Community Ice Rink up and running for another season. The ECA operates the community ice rink using volunteers.
The ECA pays the bills including lighting repair costs this year estimated at $7,000, thanks to our casino volunteers these costs will be covered with casino funds. The ice rink has been an annual amenity for over 40 years now and is well used by many in our community.
We would need volunteer ice cleaners and makers and meet three times a week for a two-hour job to get the rink in shape. We meet on Wednesday nights at 9:00 pm and on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8:00 am. We have a snow blower and power brush but need a crew of at least three to get the rink cleaned and flooded and the snow thrown over the boards. If you are interested in helping out, please call the community office at 403-239-1211 or email [email protected].
Please ensure that you dress warmly with good boots and come out and give us a hand!
The skating season is short, but the family fun at the rink is cherished every year. To celebrate the winter season, we will be installing more seasonal lights this year.
