For Residential Fences Backing on to Country Hills Boulevard
Community member Keith Tomchuk would like to connect with Hawkwood homeowners who back onto Country Hills Boulevard between Hawkstone Gate and Sarcee Trail to gauge their interest in addressing the weathered condition of the residential fences along that roadway.
While the responsibility for maintaining this fencing rests with each individual homeowner along their property lines, these perimeter fences may be replaced by noise barrier fencing if the noise levels meet the appropriate measurement thresholds.
In 2012, when the noise levels were last measured by the City of Calgary, this area did not meet the thresholds to warrant installation of noise barrier fencing at that time. In order to have an updated noise measurement redone, two thirds of the residents with properties backing on to this stretch of road need to sign an application.
Keith is interested in coordinating the submission of this application but, as a first step, he needs help from the affected residents to gather the necessary signatures to request a new noise measurement to determine if 2026 noise levels warrant the installation of a noise barrier.
