Hidden Valley’s Vice President’s Message for May

We hope that your Spring has been filled with opportunity and warmth. Only a brief update this month to highlight the main events coming up in May and June that we’ve described in more detail in our other updates.

May is our Community Garage Sale and the Community Clean Up – Saturday and Sunday May 29 and 30. Leading up to the event, folks have been using the #HVCACleanUp tag on Facebook and our social media to highlight the difference a few people can make when they pitch in and pick up.

June is the HVCA Annual General Meeting. Tuesday, June 22 – rain or shine – we’ll be meeting at the Hidden Hut to review the year. To try to keep things moving, we will be posting all reports from directors online ahead of the meeting, as we did in 2020, so that we can make sure that we have enough time for questions, and to make sure we can fill the vacant and expiring Director positions. This is a great opportunity to get involved and to bring your suggestions for improving the community into the team that supports those great ideas.

This summer, we’re working with the City of Calgary to bring in events like a mobile skateboard park and theatre/movie in the park to try to take advantage of the open spaces we have in our community. We know that folks have been out and about in our neighbourhood, and we want to encourage everyone to pay attention to the great spaces available to us.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are looking forward to meeting with our members, neighbours, and residents at these events. Keeping connected to you, listening to your feedback, and looking forward to future helps new and returning Board members to deliver our 2021 slate of projects and events, and to plan for a successful and active 2022.
