Hope everyone had a fantastic summer! The renovations to the pool basin are well underway and going well. We are fortunate as Highwoodians to live in such a great community with one of the last remaining outdoor pools in the city. It was a different kind of summer, not being able to use the pool, particularly because it was one of the hottest ones I can remember, but it will all be worth the wait, once it is completed.
You may have noticed that outdoor rink still has some deficiencies. The boards need some work, and so does the asphalt and the landscaping. They should be 100% complete by the beginning of the skating season. Thank you to the volunteers that have taken on this daunting task!
Once again, the Highwood community was treated to a movie in the park this summer. The show was Coco, and once the thunderstorm rolled on by, and the screen was still standing, everyone had a great time! Make sure to keep in touch with the Highwood Facebook page and watch the Summit for next year’s movie.
As the new school year has begun, and the summer vacations are over, we welcome you to join us at our monthly meetings, or perhaps even join the board. We are always looking for great community members to help out with creating the amazing community we live in!
