2020 has been an interesting year, and this summer has been no exception.

In the midst of camp closures and cancelled vacations, it was a pleasure to have the Highwood Outdoor Pool back up and running. The new pool and spray park look great, and we want to thank Gloria for her dedication and hard work over the last few years, getting the pool through the renovation and back in business. Highwood and surrounding area residents have enjoyed it immensely, and this would not have been possible without her.

Adding to the fun, in August, members of the Highwood Community Association created the 2020 Highwood Summer Challenge. Highwood residents were encouraged to complete community-based activities and post pictures on Facebook and Instagram for a chance to win prizes from local businesses. Special thanks to all of the businesses that contributed prizes for the challenge! Pictures can be found on Instagram under the hashtag #happeninginhighwood.

The community rink has been well used this summer, and moving into fall, we will continue to make it available for the community. We ask that everyone avoid using the benches, and limit contact with the gates. Unfortunately, due to some vandalism, the basketball net is currently out of commission. The good news is that it has been extremely well used and we will be looking into replacing the basketball net.

Have a great fall,

Brody Todd
