There’s a special buzz to Sunday mornings at HSCA! Doors open bright and early at 7:00 am, the smell of something delicious fills the air, and neighbours pop in to browse, chat, and see what treasures they’ll find. That’s the HSCA Flea Market, a Sunday staple since 1980.
It all began with The Black Market — blacked-out windows, local vendors, and plenty of community heart. When founder Cliff passed the torch, HSCA’s own Marlin Lee reopened it under HSCA’s roof, and by 1985, it officially became the HSCA Flea Market with Bonnie at the helm. She poured her heart into it for 37 incredible years, helping it grow into a beloved local institution before her retirement in 2022.
Today, that same creative, community-driven spirit continues under Angel’s leadership. What was once a weekend market is now a buzzing community hub, co-hosting monthly Repair Exchanges, seasonal pop-ups, and family-friendly activities that bring everyone together. And yes — the smells from the kitchen, courtesy of Babe’s Bite, make it even better.
This holiday season, shop sustainably and support local at the HSCA Flea Market! You’ll find unique treasures, handmade gifts, and vintage finds — something for every vibe (and every person) on your list, all without breaking the bank.
