President’s Message
Dear Kincora Neighbours,
Spring is almost here, and as we look back on a busy winter, I want to thank everyone who came out and made our community events so memorable. Our recent Skate Night was a wonderful success! Despite the cold, we saw so many kids and families out on the rink, having fun, and enjoying the fire pits. Thanks to the Kincora Rink Crew, they managed to bring the rink back to a usable state after a couple of warm weeks. I’m deeply grateful to these volunteers who worked hard to keep the ice smooth and safe for everyone.
Our eighth Annual Winter Festival was another success. It was a bit chilly, but the warmth of our community shone through as neighbours gathered to enjoy hot chocolate, donuts, and the ever-popular wagon rides. Thank you to our sponsors—Cloud Land, HSH – Home Sweet Home Team, and Court Ellingson (MLA, Alberta NDP)—for helping us make these events possible.
I’d also like to remind everyone that our KCA Facebook Group is here to foster knowledge, harmony, and connection. We’re committed to keeping it a safe, welcoming space for all, and we may remove posts or comments that drive negativity or hate. Our goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere and bring people together. Please reach out to KCA Admin if you have concerns about moderation; my team are always happy to review and help.
As mentioned in the last newsletter, we will be replacing the playground by the Kincora pond. Please check out this edition to see the design.
Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for our Annual General Meeting on April 21 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm (social at 7:00 pm, meeting at 7:30 pm). This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbours, ask questions, and share your ideas for the year ahead. We hope you’ll consider joining as a member or even volunteering on our board.
Warm regards,
Dicky Sum
