A Message from the KRA
March is here, and with it comes that unmistakable feeling of fresh starts. As the days grow longer and our community comes back outdoors, this month is all about reconnecting, lending a hand, and looking ahead to what we can build together this spring.
Community Improvement Updates
Thank you to everyone who has submitted community improvement ideas. We truly appreciate your engagement and patience. Implementing projects takes time, particularly with a small number of board members and the need for City of Calgary approvals. Many projects take place on City-owned land, and the Kincora Residents Association (KRA) works closely with the City to ensure all approvals are completed for long-term community benefit.
Community ideas are always welcome. Email: [email protected].
2026: Shovels in the Ground!
We’re excited to share some expected Kincora projects planned for this year:
• Kincora Boulevard infrastructure improvements (KRA)
• Pond playground replacement (Kincora Community Association – KCA)
Thank you for your patience during construction periods and for being extra cautious around work zones.
Help Kincora – Every Volunteer Hour Counts!
Community volunteers can help reduce project costs, especially during the installation of the new pond playground.
If you’re interested in volunteering, please email your contact information to [email protected].

Noise Barrier Program – Updates for Kincora
The City of Calgary’s Noise Barrier Program aims to reduce transportation noise in residential areas that exceed City noise-level criteria. Where eligible, noise barriers may be constructed to significantly lessen traffic noise.

Police Seeking Information on Recent Residential Break-Ins
The Calgary Police Service is investigating a series of four residential break-and-enters reported this month in northwest and southwest Calgary. These incidents may be connected and appear to target homes backing onto greenspaces, ravines, parks, and golf courses. All homes were unoccupied at the time.
Common Factors Include:
• Occurred during afternoon and evening hours
• Entry gained through rear doors or windows
• High-value items taken (jewellery, watches, purses, sunglasses, cash)
How You Can Help
Residents are encouraged to report anything unusual, including:
• Home security or doorbell camera footage
• Dashcam recordings
• Suspicious activity or unfamiliar vehicles
• Anything that felt “out of place,†even if it seemed minor
Calgary Police Service: 403-266-1234
Email: [email protected] (not monitored 24/7)
Crime Stoppers (Anonymous): 1-800-222-8477 or calgarycrimestoppers.org
Tips to Help Keep Your Home Safe
• Secure rear access points: Lock doors and windows, especially those facing pathways or greenspaces.
• Use lighting: Motion-activated lighting can deter opportunistic activity.
• Don’t advertise absences: Avoid posting travel plans publicly and arrange for mail/package pickup.
• Use your security tools: Ensure alarms and cameras are working properly.
• Look out for each other: Report suspicious behaviour and talk with neighbours.
Community awareness plays a key role in preventing crime. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and report it.
Wishing you a happy and safe St. Patrick’s Day! May your week be filled with good cheer, a little luck, and lots of community spirit.
