Hi Kincora,
I’m so pleased to share that we are moving forward with our 2022 Winter Festival! Sleigh rides in the field, live musicians and dancers, hot chocolate and cookies, and of course skating! What’s the cost for this great community event you ask? Absolutely free for any and everyone. The Kincora Community Association will kick off 2022 by celebrating the outdoors. Please check our website and Facebook for full details, but what you need to know is that on February 13 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Kincora Skating Rink you’ll be at the biggest party that’s a part of the Chinook Winter Blast in Calgary!
(As part of our event, we will of course be following all COVID guidelines provided by the Province, and all events are weather dependent.) We will require volunteers for this event; the KCA will be providing loaner skates and helmets on site and will need someone to help distribute these items, volunteers to help our passengers queue and get on and off our sleigh rides, as well as someone to tend our firepits and help our musicians and dancers get setup. If you are available to help us out for the event, please email our Volunteer Coordinator Sarah Kromm at [email protected] or give me a call at my number below.
Lastly, the Kincora Community Association is a volunteer run and funded organization. You may have seen our signs coming up the hill on the Drive and Glen Green. This is a gentle reminder that your $20 donation to become a member is multiplied many times through grants and is kept right in our community. You can fill out the form right here in the newsletter or sign up at our website at Kincora.org. Your membership lasts a calendar year from the day you sign up and gives you free access to our events, more importantly you help support the great sense of community we have in Kincora. Our rink, Winter Festival, and Stampede Breakfast cost well over $10,000 combined each year and your donation helps to ensure that we can continue to bring these events right into our neighbourhood!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I love to chat with our neighbours.
