NHCA Community Food Initiative
The Good Food Box orders continue to grow. If you’re wondering how to provide fresh fruit and vegetables for yourself and your family, the Good Food Box is an excellent option. Once a month, you can place an order on-line and pick up your food box of fresh produce at the Community Hall. Please check out our website under extras and community food initiative for more information on how to participate. For those of you who are currently customers, thank you! Your participation means we can continue to be a depot for the Good Food Box.
We are also collecting donations for the Food Bank at our community events. So, if you’re attending an upcoming event please consider, if able, bringing either a non-perishable food item or cash donation for the Food Bank.
Our community garden will also be opening garden plot registrations March 15. We have expanded to three plot options:
• Your own individual plot,
• Group plots which you garden with other folks and share garden knowledge, or,
• Community plots which are grown to supply fresh vegetables on a weekly basis to community members.
You can find the community garden under extras on the website.
If you’re looking for a community project to volunteer with, we would be delighted if you joined us. Please contact us at [email protected]. Further, a heartfelt thank you to those community members who are currently volunteering with us.
