Events, Ideas, and Connections

Springtime in Ranchlands promises to bring fun and activity to the community association. While winter in February was more springlike, and even summer on a few days, we do look forward to more daylight hours.

Our website is undergoing a facelift – we look forward to any feedback you have to be able to provide you with relevant information.

There are some new programs kicking off to support youth and retirees. These activities do not happen without effort – we appreciate the contributions of our staff and board members.

We continue to partner with Calgary House Concerts to provide music and community. Watch our website and social media posts for the artists and the dates.

We have applied to the City for the Community Cleanup dates in May – as soon as we have the dates, we will publish them – and let the spring cleaning begin!

There will be a ‘Jane’s Walk’ on May 2 in the afternoon. Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, community-led walking conversations inspired by urbanist and writer Jane Jacobs. On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk festivals take place in hundreds of cities around the world. This event encourages people to share stories about their neighbourhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbours. Do have some tidbits of Ranchlands history? Know some interesting facts? Like to walk with your neighbours and others visiting Ranchlands? We would love to have you go through the neighbourhood with us.

Save the date for the Annual Neighbour Day celebration on the eve of the beginning of summer – Saturday, June 20 at 2:00 pm. Fun activity planning is underway. You may recall that our 2025 event was stymied by very poor weather and a power outage. We really hope for a true party to bring in summer and connect with our neighbours.
