Celebrating Neighbourhood Day in Ranchlands
Neighbour Day will have come and gone with the July issue of our Roundup. If the weather cooperated, we hope that you enjoyed spending time and having some fun in the neighbourhood. We continue to have people come up with suggestions and ideas to help keep our neighbourhood appealing and safe. Any ideas are welcome – we then review them for the financial feasibility and the time needed from volunteers and staff. Our representatives from the City, the alderman’s office, and the Neighbourhood Partnership representative, are always helpful pointing us towards grants and opportunities. You can drive past the hall and notice that it now has our name over the hall upper windows – another way to take pride in our facility.
Art Project – Beautifying the Entrance to Ranchlands on the Boulevard
In addition to the usual maintenance of our beloved Ranchlands welcome sign, we are exploring another project. One opportunity we are considering is a mural art project, similar to what was done in Coventry Hills (you can Google search for this and see what is possible). This will be a chance to paint the street facing fences coming into the neighbourhood on Ranchlands Blvd. We have begun the exploration of what is necessary for this endeavor. If this is of interest to you, please let me or the office know.
July Reset
July is the month the board takes a break from the regular business of the association and will instead have a mini retreat for the board to focus on the vision for the next year of the association. We have secured a permanent long-term rental with a childcare program, providing some revenue stability. Our rentals continue to be the source of our income. We appreciate those who rent and those who promote our facility.
Where Can You Help?
Financial support for our food panty is a great place to help. A regular monthly donation of any amount is welcome – this can be set up through our website. Tax receipts are issued for donations.
Buy a membership! That will get you into our communication call out for events and times when we need volunteers.
Provide your ideas and feedback. While we are sometimes constrained by various limitations, we do like to know what you think – often one idea can be adjusted slightly to fill another need.
