President’s

Snow,
Showers and Sunshine – Let’s Get Outdoors
March
and April had a fair share of snow, some showers, and now into May – we’re looking
forward to sunshine. As we welcome the second half of spring, it is a good time
to make our outdoor spaces relaxing and beautiful. Within our community, we
have many playgrounds and green spaces, and many that are adjacent to our
pathways. As you meander around, we encourage you to report anything that could
use repair or a facelift to 3-1-1. The Board receives a report each month of
the number and type of calls. When the board knows what is needing attention,
we can work with our city councillor and our neighbourhood representative to
prioritize work.

Outdoor
Sports
Adults
and children will hopefully have chances to participate in many of the outdoor
sports around the city, including soccer, softball, baseball, lacrosse, rugby,
pickleball, tennis, football, and others that I may have missed. Sport Calgary
offers an event “All Sport One Day” on June 20. This is the same day as our
Neighbour Day party – go partake in a sport and then come tell your neighbours
all about it. You never know when sharing an idea may turn into a community
event or program that we can all enjoy.
Dates
to Note
·
Community Cleanup – May 23
·
Community Garage Sale – June 6
·
Neighbour Day – June 20
All
details are on our (new and improved) website.

Hall
For the
days that are not real outdoor type days, check out the activities happening
inside our Community Centre. Programs, events, and activities available to our
residents are increasing, continuing to build the community. Rentals are doing
well, ensuring we have a steady income flow. You can follow our Facebook page
or check the RCA website to find out what is available.
