A Special Concert Comes to Ranchlands
The Ranchlands Community Association is proud to host a concert by the Grand Ukrainian Choir (Grucho) on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 4:00 pm.
Founded in September 2024, Grucho brings together newly arrived Ukrainians who use music as a way to connect, heal, and celebrate their cultural identity while continuing their artistic journeys in Canada. The choir includes both amateur and professional musicians, creating a rich and dynamic sound.
Their repertoire spans traditional Ukrainian music as well as pieces from other musical traditions and styles. Grucho embraces many genres while maintaining a high standard of performance.
The ensemble is led by Svitlana Popovychenko, a highly trained musician with two academic degrees — one as a professional domra player and another as an opera and symphonic conductor. Her leadership emphasizes musical growth, quality sound, and strong ensemble performance.
The name Grucho stands for Grand Ukrainian Choir. Its logo represents unity, the strength of collective voices, and a powerful Ukrainian presence within the global cultural community.
This is a meaningful and beautiful event you won’t want to miss. We will post shortly on how to get your free tickets.
