Kindness, Community, and Growth at St. Rita School
The past several weeks has been filled with meaningful learning, joyful celebrations, and opportunities for community building at St. Rita School. As we move from winter into spring, our students, staff, and families continue to live out our shared values of faith, kindness, and excellence in education.
February was a particularly busy and engaging month. We began with a reverent Ash Wednesday liturgy, where students and staff gathered to mark the start of the Lenten season. This special liturgy provided an important opportunity for reflection, prayer, and discussion about renewal, compassion, and personal growth. It set a thoughtful tone that carried into the weeks that followed.
Later in the month, our school proudly participated in Pink Shirt Day. Students and staff wore pink to show their commitment to kindness and inclusion. Class discussions and activities reinforced the importance of empathy and respect, reminding everyone that even small actions can make a big difference in creating a safe and welcoming school environment.
As we enter March, our focus turns more fully toward the season of Lent. This is a time for reflection, generosity, and service, and our school community will be actively supporting those in need through a food collection for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Families are encouraged to participate by donating non-perishable food items, helping students learn firsthand the importance of caring for others and giving back to the community.
March will also include parent-teacher conferences near the end of the month. These meetings are an important opportunity to celebrate student success, share progress, and strengthen the partnership between home and school. We look forward to welcoming families into meaningful conversations that support continued growth and learning.
Looking ahead, we warmly invite all families who are interested in joining our school community to inquire about registration. Our doors are always open, and we are proud to share the vibrant learning environment that defines St. Rita School. In May, we will host an Open House, providing prospective families with the opportunity to tour the school, meet staff, and learn more about our programs and values.
