Our tiny school has been quietly growing over the past few months, and we are lucky to have all the new families joining us! Our students had a fun September full of learning and laughter. We participated in the Terry Fox run and collected money for cancer research and celebrated our faith with a liturgy to begin the new school year. We have parent teacher conferences four times a year, and the first ones were held in September. Our teachers look forward to building relationships with parents so they can work together to promote learning.
Our students had opportunities to delve into Indigenous ways of knowing in September as we acknowledged Orange Shirt Day and learned about Métis values through the book The Giving Tree. This led us right into collecting food for our Thanksgiving Food Drive. Our choir begins rehearsing in October which is always lots of fun. We will also have our first family dance of the year this month, as we celebrate Halloween with music, costumes, and pizza!
