TPCA President’s Message for June

As the TPCA board prepares for the summer season, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our residents, for your ongoing support. We know many of you, especially those who live near the park, have construction fatigue. The city’s installation of the dry pond was long (longer than expected) and complicated. It was an investment in our community that has paid off greatly. Our community now has a beautiful park, lots of usable greenspace, and one of the best playgrounds in the city. And, to top it off, houses around the park and our hall no longer flood!

Now, we await the city’s final leg of construction, the installation of four beach volleyball courts on the NE corner of the park. Luckily, that project is much smaller and will only take three to four weeks to complete once it is started. At the time of writing the content for this issue, the TPCA hasn’t received a start date, but has been told it will likely be early July. Please follow us on social media for more timely updates. We’re doing the best we can to keep everyone informed, but we’re short on communications volunteers. If you’d like to help your community by volunteering, please contact me.

And a big thanks to our Social Committee for organizing the second Annual Tuxedo Park Summer Festival on May 25! Once again, they brought our community together for an afternoon of fun! I hope you all enjoyed the chance to get out and meet your neighbours and sample wares from our local business community.
