Dear West Hillhurst Community,

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it’s full of opportunities to connect. From winter programs and community events to ways to stay active and involved, there’s lots happening in our neighbourhood. We’re grateful for the continued support of our members, volunteers, and partners—thank you for being part of our community.

WHCA was proud to partner with the Northwest Warriors Hockey Association to host our Second Annual Girls Hockey Day this past January, a community event celebrating and inspiring girls and women in hockey.

The day brought together players, parents, coaches, and supporters to celebrate female hockey achievements and our shared love of the game. Our goal is to ensure every participant feels valued, supported, and celebrated in Canada’s favourite sport.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the day such a success. Special thanks to our volunteers, instructors, sponsors, Hockey Alberta, and the Northwest Warriors—this unforgettable event would not have been possible without you. Let’s keep growing the game!

It’s also been wonderful to see our community enjoying the outdoor rink and all our winter programming. From skating and hockey to pickleball, squash, and community events, our facilities have been buzzing all season long.
