The WHCA Green Committee salutes the West Hillhurst Girl Guide units who planted the native pollinator plant seeds we provided to them earlier this summer.

This was all part of the Butterflyway Project, which is a volunteer-led movement that is about growing habitats for bees and butterflies in neighbourhoods throughout Canada.

Next spring we’re hoping to add some native pollinator plants along the Dairy Lane pathway which connects 19 St NW to 3 Ave NW. For more information on how you can participate in the Butterflyway, please email [email protected].

The WHCA Green Committee is recruiting green-minded folks to join in our efforts to greenify West Hillhurst. We want to hear your green ideas and tell your green stories.

Whether it be planting a pollinator garden, advocating for the urban canopy, participating in our clothing exchange, cleaning up the neighbourhood, or adding solar panels to your roof, every little thing helps.
