Happy July y’all! It’s prime summertime in Calgary and we’re here for it!

Stampede Breakfast – July 6

Join us for a boot scootin’ time! The ACA is thrilled to bring back the Stampede Breakfast event to the community of Acadia! Come out for a pancake breakfast, fun live performances, petting zoo, western themed carnival games, and glitter tattoos. You won’t want to miss it! This event will run from 9:00 to 11:00 am and is free for ACA members and $5 for non-members. Given the popularity of this event, pre-registration is highly recommended. Visit www.acadia.community/stampede for more details!

Cocktail Mixing Workshop – Saturday, July 27

Get ready to participate in a twist on the classic cocktail making class with Gnu Craft Spirits. Come to the ARC Social Lounge at 6:00 pm, to learn about this local distillery all while enjoying delicious cocktails you mix yourself! The cost per person is $65. ACA members receive a $5 discount. Each guest will receive a sample bottle of Gnu’s multi-award-winning Gnu Normal London Dry Gin to take home, the recipes for their Gnu “go-to” cocktails, as well as a five-piece bar set. This is sure to be an informative and fun evening that you do not want to miss! Visit www.acadia.community/programs to register.

Youth Drop-in Program

In June, we tested the waters for a youth drop-in program at the ARC. We are going to pick this concept back up in September with the intent of providing our community’s youth demographic a safe and fun place to go for positive engagement and to make friends. If you have ideas for theme nights or activities, please let us know by emailing [email protected].

June was Bike Month

Thanks to everyone who rolled out to celebrate Bike Month in Calgary! A special thank you to the volunteers who dedicated their time to make this event possible. We want to give a loud shout out to Bike Calgary for coordinating this event across Calgary. We also want to thank all our sponsors who contributed prizes for the raffle, we greatly appreciate your donations. To our local businesses, Ami-Tea, Energize Health, Good Bread, Trico Centre for Family Wellness, and the Alberta Tennis Centre, thank you for participating by being a hot-spot for our local scavenger hunt!

Neighbour Day Was a Blast!

What a day we had celebrating the good neighbours of Acadia! It was so fun to see your lovely faces and participate in the city-wide observance of the neighbours who make our city what it is. Thank you to the residents of Ashley Crescent who banded together to garner up the support needed amongst neighbours to host this year’s event. It was a close race and was incredible to see seven streets in Acadia nominated to host!

We greatly appreciate the vendors and local makers who participated in our mini market, our local talent who provided live music, and to all our volunteers who make this event possible. Our community is fortunate to have your love and support and we’re looking forward to doing this again next year!

Movie in the Park – September 6

Acadia’s movie night event is kicking off a month of Movies in the Park in coordination with Fairview Community Association (September 13) and Willow Ridge Community Association (September 20).
