We are halfway through the summer and there is still some more sun-soaking fun to be had!

Stampede was a hoot and a half!

It was a pleasure to host another Stampede breakfast for the community this year. It was great to see all of you who came out to partake in the activities and showcases we had planned. Special thanks to our sponsors – Wholesale Club South Calgary and Vivid Eye Care Meadows Mile. A special thank you as well goes to our team of volunteers who brought this event to life, including the Stampede Welcome Wagon volunteers who brought the western spirit to our event! There is no time like Stampede, and your contributions make the effort worthwhile. Thank you!

A Successful Grassroots Soccer Season!

Our inaugural community grassroots soccer season was a roaring success! 93 children enrolled to play this year, with more seeking to register after the enrolment deadline. A huge shout out to our parent volunteer coaches. They really stepped up in a big way for the kids and were integral in making the season fun, engaging, and encouraging for the children to try out new skills and build their confidence in the game.

Special thanks to our sponsors and supporters – Energize Health South, Alberta Tennis Centre, and Calgary City FC, with special mention to the Lakeview Community Association soccer program. We cannot wait to kick off a new season next year!

Youth Drop-in Program

The youth drop-in pilot program was quite successful that we will be picking it back up in September.

If you know kids between the ages of 10 to 17, or you are one yourself, come join our youth program! Stop by the ARC to hang out with friends and make new ones during an evening packed with games, music, snacks, and more! If you have ideas for theme nights or activities, please let us know by emailing [email protected]. Our intent is to provide our community’s youth demographic a safe and fun place to go for positive engagement and to make friends.

Movie in the Park – September 6

Acadia’s movie night event is kicking off a month of Movies in the Park in coordination with Fairview Community Association (September 13) and Willow Ridge Community Association (September 20).

Vote for your movie pick at www.acadia.community/movienight.

ACA Social Night – September 13

Your Acadia Community Association is dedicated to fostering community with our members and neighbours at large. Next month on Friday, September 13, we will be having our first Social Night of the season. Come out from 5:30 to 7:30 pm to meet your ACA board members and enjoy refreshments on us, board games, and conversation. All ages are welcome!

Annual General Meeting – September 26

Come to the ARC’s Rose Hall from 7:00 to 9:00 pm for our AGM to hear about how we did this past year, what’s in store for the future, and to meet and elect Executives and Board of Directors. Doors open at 6:30 pm for registration and networking. Snacks and refreshments will be available after the formal meeting wraps up, and we welcome you to stay to visit each committee’s information booth to learn more about the ACA’s initiatives and how you can get involved. We hope to see you there!
