Happy Father’s Day to all of the rad dads of Acadia!

Easter Egg Hunt Recap

This was our third annual Easter Egg Hunt, and it was another resounding success! We had approximately 150 egg hunters join us for the fun! Thank you to all of our lovely volunteers that acted as the Easter Bunny and hid all the eggs, as well as put together the crafts and treats for the kids. There were some beautiful baskets that came out of the decorating station, and the Addison Place Playground truly came alive with all the children of Acadia. It was another fantastic turn out, and we can’t wait to see you all again next year!

Appreciating Our Volunteers on National Volunteer Week

We held an appreciation luncheon to honour our dedicated volunteers and their family members on April 26. Volunteerism is a core value for the ACA and a majority of our initiatives, programs, and events are 100% volunteer supported.

This year marked the launch of our annual “Awesome Acadian” award, and we were proud to honour long-time resident and ACA member, Frances Harrison, as the inaugural 2024 recipient. For many years, Frankie has shown unwavering dedication to the ACA, giving her time, energy, and heart in every way imaginable. Her impact on our community is so significant that we even named the ARC concession stand in her honour! Honouring her as the 2024 “Awesome Acadian” is just a small gesture of our deep appreciation for her years of dedication and service.

Neighbour Day

This year, Neighbour Day is on June 21 and we’re always so excited to bring the community together to celebrate. The Neighbour Day Block Party is a collaborative effort between the ACA and local Acadia residents. It can only go ahead with active support from residents on the street. For the latest updates on whether the event will proceed, where it will be held, and all other event details, please check acadiaca.com/neighbourday and our social media accounts.

If you are a local maker or vendor and want to participate in our mini market at this event, please reach out to [email protected].

Parade of Garage Sales

The Parade of Garage Sales will be held on June 28 and June 29 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This event is made possible with big thanks to Justyna Jakimowicz of Royal LePage Realty. Register your home to be on the map so people know you’re open for business! Home businesses are welcome, and if you don’t have a garage to sell out of, register to set up a trunk sale in the ARC parking lot! Join in on this year’s Parade of Garage Sales at acadiagaragesale.com. ACA membership is required to register as a seller.

Stampede Breakfast

Kick off Stampede week with the community! The 2025 ACA Stampede Breakfast will be on July 5 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will be hosted at the ARC in the back parking lot. This year we are excited to have Generation Country, a band local to Acadia, provide us with live music! We’re also thrilled to bring back Keepin’ It Country line dancers, whose home-base is at the ARC, for a performance. Bring the family to enjoy all this amazing live entertainment, as well as a classic pancake breakfast, petting zoo, Western-themed games, and more! Check out acadiaca.com/stampede for more information.

Become a Board Member and Make a Difference Where You Live and Play

Our incredible and dedicated volunteers are what make the ACA and all of its programs and events possible. We are currently actively accepting nominations for the President and Secretary positions, as the term for our current leaders comes to an end this month. If you are interested in helping lead and support the ACA, please reach out to [email protected] for more information.

In addition to these key leadership roles, we continue to seek volunteers to support our committees, events, and initiatives.
