Message From the Board
Easter Egg Hunt
We are excited to bring back the kids’ Easter egg hunt for its fifth consecutive year! This year, the hunt will be held on April 4 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Addison Place Playground – 8523 Addison Drive SE. Make sure to bring your own basket for the basket decorating station, and bring lots of energy for other crafts, fun outdoor games, glitter tattoos, and, of course, the Easter egg hunt! Foot traffic is encouraged, but pre-registration is required for all egg hunters at acadiaca.com/easter. It is free for all members, and $5 per child for non-members. We hope to see you there!
Grassroots Soccer
Registration for our spring Grassroots Soccer program is officially open! Grassroots Soccer is a great way for your kids to stay active, socialize, and learn new skills, and has become a staple for the ACA. The season will run from April 27 to June 17 for age groups U4 to U12. This year, we will also hold additional Saturday skills clinics for U8 to U12 as an optional add-on. Visit acadiaca.com/soccer to learn more and register. Spots fill up fast, so be sure to register your child now if you haven’t already!
We are still in need of coaches for this season! If you have previous coaching experience or are looking to get involved in the local athletics scene, please reach out to [email protected]. Our coaches’ clinic will be held on April 19, so reach out before then to make sure you are fully prepared by the start of the season.
Junior Leadership Soccer Program
We are initiating a new program in tandem with Grassroots Soccer aimed towards youths from age 13 to 18. Youth volunteers will have the opportunity to become junior coaches and help out during the season with our regular U4 to U12 groups. This program aims to build leadership and coaching skills, assisting head and assistant coaches throughout the season. Junior coaches will help out at practices, lead activities, and support year-end events in a fun, supportive environment. If that is something you or your child would be interested in, reach out to [email protected].
National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Week (NVW) will be recognized from April 19 to April 25 this year. The NVW is all about celebrating volunteerism across Canada and its many vibrant communities. As a volunteer-based organization, volunteering is integral to all that we do. We want to express our sincerest gratitude for everyone who has, is, and will continue to work hard for the ACA and uplift the Acadia community as a whole.
