Hello Acadians!

2024 Annual General Meeting Recap

We are so thankful for all our dedicated Acadia Community Association members and residents who attended the AGM last month. It was exciting to meet new members, as well as reconnect with some long-standing ones. There were lots of exciting developments this past fiscal year that were shared, and big plans for the future. Our membership voted in a new board and executive team, who are all already forging full steam ahead executing on the initiatives presented. If you missed the 2024 AGM, a recap of the meeting’s highlights is available at www.acadia.community/agm.

Strategic Plan 2024 – 2029

One big highlight at the AGM was our new five-year strategic plan. The ACA’s five-year strategic plan outlines a goal for the future, driven by a deep commitment to our mission to serve and elevate our community. We invite you to review the plan, and as always, welcome anyone who may see a role for themselves within the plan’s initiatives to reach out and join us! Visit www.acadia.community/strategicplan to read the plan.

ACA Social Nights

Our beloved Social Night events are going to be postponed for the remainder of this calendar year. We have been so encouraged by the amount of people who come out to each of these! In order to continue to ensure we bring value with every engagement we have with our neighbours; we will be relaunching Social Nights with a new format in the new year! Watch for announcements on this in Hello Acadia, on our website, and on our social media. We’re looking forward to connecting with our community!

New Soccer Program Coordinator Needed!

Registrations for the upcoming grassroots soccer season will open in January 2025. Our wonderful soccer coordinator, Trudy, is retiring and we are in need of someone to take on this very important and rewarding role! Please reach out to [email protected] if you would like to learn more.

In Search of Committee Chairs

We are seeking people to join in what we are building in our community by providing leadership in the roles of Communication Chair and Planning/Development Chair. These Committee Chairs will ensure their respective committee fulfils the association’s directives and goals as well as play a key role in decision-making and implementing their proposals. Our ability to deliver on community projects and initiatives are dependent on volunteers like you. If you are interested and/or passionate about any of these topics, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] today!
