Stampede Breakfast Recap

Nothing says Calgary quite like Stampede, and Acadia was no exception to the celebrations. The ACA Stampede Breakfast was a real hoot this year, and there is no short list of thank yous to everyone that came to pull the event together. Thank you to our event sponsors MNH Injury Lawyers, Pür & Simple, the Mustard Seed, the Family Resource Network, and Scoops Icecream. Thank you to our incredible performers Generation Country, Cree8 Performance Group, and Keeping It Country Line Dancing for coming out and livening up the event! And last, but not least, a special thank you to all of our volunteers for helping run the show and cook up all of the delicious pancakes! The ACA would be nothing without your continued support. We hope to see you again next year!

New Community Playground Replacement Project

The Playgrounds Committee is actively seeking volunteers to help bring Acadia’s next community playground project to life! This is your chance to be a part of something meaningful and create a lasting impact in the community. Learn more about the project and how you can get involved by visiting acadiaca.com/playgrounds.

Movie in the Park

Last year’s event was such an amazing time! We are looking forward to bringing this event back to Acadia this year on Friday, September 5. Check our website acadiaca.com/movienight and socials @acacalgary for updates as the event details come together and vote for which movie you want to see this year!

Volunteer Casino Fundraiser

The ACA’s biggest fundraising opportunity of the year is coming up, and we need your help! Our Casino Fundraiser takes place on September 24 and 25 at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino, and volunteers are essential to making it a success.

No previous experience is required as you will be fully trained during your shift and supported every step of the way. Meals and snacks are also provided while you’re volunteering. Whether you have worked at a casino before or are trying it for the first time, we’d love to have you on board. Every role filled directly supports the ACA’s ability to continue offering programs, events, and community initiatives. Email us at [email protected] to sign up or learn more.

You’re Invited – ACA Annual General Meeting

Thursday, September 18, 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the ARC. Get ready for an evening of connection, community, and big reveals! Come to the meeting for a chance to hear firsthand about the exciting initiatives and bold vision shaping our next year. Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to the neighbourhood, this is your opportunity to network with fellow community members, meet the people behind the ACA, and share your voice in shaping the future of our community. We’ll kick things off (and wrap up) with a casual networking session and light refreshments, so come early, stay late, and connect!

This year, we’ll also be electing a new Board President, Secretary, and other key leadership roles and your vote matters. To be eligible to vote, you must have an active ACA membership for at least 30 days before the meeting. Let’s build the future of Acadia together! We can’t wait to see you there!

SouthYeast Brewfest

On Saturday, October 25 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, everyone’s favourite adult-only event will be back! Local craft breweries will be coming down to the ARC to showcase their best on tap. There will also be snacks, games, live music, and raffles. Join us to socialize with neighbours and sample what the community has to offer! This is one of our most popular events of the year, and it is a great time to connect and have fun while trying some local brews. Check out acadiaca.com/brewfest for further details and to purchase tickets.

Become a Board Member, Join a Committee! Make a Difference Where You Live and Play

Do you want to help shape the future of your neighbourhood? The ACA is driven by passionate volunteers who bring our community to life through exciting events, meaningful programs, and community enhancement projects and initiatives. As the owner/operator of the ARC, built in 1980, we understand how it is a vital hub for sports, recreation, and gathering in our neighbourhood. Keeping it running smoothly and accessible to all takes time, care, and community support, which we can’t do without you! As we head into a new term, we’re looking for passionate community members to join the ACA as Board Members, Committee Volunteers, and event supporters. At the Annual General Meeting on September 18, we will be electing a new President and Secretary – critical leadership roles for our future. If you’ve ever wanted to make a real impact where you live, now is the time. Whether you have a few hours a month or are ready to take on a leadership role, your contribution matters. Reach out to [email protected] to learn more.
