The ARC had the honour of hosting the 2025 Curling Alberta Club Championship South Men’s Qualifier from March 6 to 9. This event was to qualify six club teams to represent their home curling rink at the Club Championship Provincial event in Okotoks from April 2 to 6, 2025. Many may remember this event being called The Travelers.

Being the host club, there was a ton of work to be done to make this event a success, as well as trying to get up to two teams to represent the ARC at home. Two teams were secured, until a late withdrawal left us with only one team – Acadia CC #2.

After two early losses, the guys found themselves in Pool C and facing elimination with the next loss. A slight lineup tweak and a fierce new focus on the prize took them on a five-game win streak. The team played three games on Sunday and had a final 5-2 victory against the Rumsey Curling Club to secure the ARC a spot at Provincials!

Congratulations to the guys on an amazing run!

Your team Acadia CC #2 comprises: Alternate – Brian Stilling, Lead – Clinton Percy, Second – Brayden Darichuk, Third – Warren Kozak, and the big guy, Skip – Jared Jenkins.

A huge thank you to Tannis Brown and her team for their hard work with Curling Alberta to make sure every detail was in place for a successful event, and another huge thank you to the tireless ice crew, led by Craig Recksiedler and Jeff Ball, who put in some long days to prepare the championship-calibre ice that all the teams raved about.

All in all, the ARC was represented in the highest regard, making all of us very proud!
