Life has been quite busy of late, trying to help move things forward for the CA, volunteering for other organization’s casinos, trying to be supportive for my cousin’s family as she deals with her terminal illness, and somewhere in all that “my full-time job”. In talking with our board at our last meeting, we might try a couple of new things to try to bring some fun and exciting aspects back to the board. Do you know of anyone who you think would want to try to help make/keep Auburn Bay the amazing community we live in? Please let them know we would love to talk to them about what excites them about the community and where they could be helping out.
We will be updating our website with additional community information. We are currently thinking about how we can show people what is new on the site, without them having to scroll through each page.
While volunteering for another organization’s casino, I realized that our Lakeshore Middle school parent council was hosting a casino the same weekend as well. If you know of any community groups that could use the support of the CA, whether it be sharing event details on social media or something else entirely, please tell them to email us at [email protected] or call us to discuss. We are here to support all of Auburn Bay and its families.
We will be hosting a rain barrel fundraiser on May 2 and 3 by our community gardens. We will be posting the information on our website once it has been created by the company and will be sharing it there. Additionally, Eagle Lake Nursery is offering $5 off any mulch/soil bags using the code ABAY25. More details posted on our website and social media.
Our new 55+ group continues to grow, so please ensure to share their information with others within the community that might be interested in socializing with other residents. They can be contacted on Facebook, 403-744-5301, ext. 3, or [email protected] for more information.
Plans for additional upgrades at the community gardens will continue to happen over the coming months, but we need some key volunteers to provide input regarding what they would like to see done. Please feel free to email us at [email protected] if you are interested in reserving a space for next year.
The Community Kitchen Good Food Box program continues to grow each month and is a great opportunity to get affordable and delicious produce. Thank you to Shannon W. for offering to be the pick-up point for our depot. You can now get a small box (approximately 20 to 25 lbs.) for $30, medium (30 to 35 lbs.) for $35, or large (40 to 45 lbs.) for $40, delivered to Auburn Bay once a month. Please check out the post on our website for the google form to place your order.
Auburn Bay has a large number of Facebook groups. There is a Pet Group, Seniors Group, Grillers Group, Ladies Group, Food Lovers Group, Gardening Group, Community Garden Group, Ladies Clothing Exchange Group, Business Group, Buy-Nothing Group… the list is nearly endless. Make sure to go and check these fabulous interest groups out.
