Happy New Year, Legacy!
As we step into 2026, I want to extend warm wishes to you and your families for a year filled with health, happiness, and community spirit. A new year always brings fresh opportunities, and I’m excited to share some updates and invitations with you.
Stay connected with us on our new website!
We’re thrilled to launch our new website at calgarylegacy.ca! It’s designed to be more user-friendly, with easy access to news, events, and resources. Be sure to visit and sign up so you can stay connected with everything happening in our community.
Work on Your Public Speaking
If improving your communication skills is part of your New Year’s resolutions, consider joining the Legacy Toastmasters group. They meet every Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at All Saints High School. It’s a supportive environment where you can gain confidence, practice public speaking, and connect with neighbours. You can attend up to three meetings for free. After that, there’s a one-time fee of $25 USD to Toastmasters International, plus a six-month membership fee of $60 USD (just $10 per month)—making it an affordable way to invest in yourself. Email [email protected] for more info or just drop by as a guest!
Volunteer and Give Back
If your resolution is to give back, we’d love your help! The Calgary Legacy Community Association is always looking for volunteers, especially to support our events and development goals. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, strengthen our neighbourhood, and make a lasting impact.
Opportunities in Fund Development – Director and Advisors
We are currently seeking an Acting Director of Sponsorships and Partnerships to serve until our Annual General Meeting in June, when the position will be up for election. This leadership role is key to building relationships and securing both financial and in-kind support for our community initiatives.
In addition to the Director role, there are several advisor positions available for those who would like to contribute at different levels of commitment. These roles will support the Acting Director and focus on specific areas of fund development:
• Advisor – Grant Writing
• Advisor – Sponsorships
• Advisor – Business Partnerships
• Advisor – Fundraising
Whether you’re interested in taking on a leadership position or supporting in an advisory capacity, there is a place for you on our team. If you’d like to get involved, please reach out -we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Thank you for being part of what makes Legacy such a vibrant and caring community. Let’s make 2026 a year of growth, connection, and shared success.
Warm regards,
Sarah Peck
