As neighbours here in Mahogany, we all share a stake in shaping Calgary’s future. This fall, Calgarians will elect a new City Council—including our Ward 12 Councillor—as well as a mayor who will guide the city through the next four years.
With so many important local issues on the table—from transit and infrastructure, to housing, public safety, and recreation—it’s worth investing the time to research the candidates.
Where to Start
The City of Calgary maintains an official election website with information about the election process and links to candidate profiles. This is an excellent first stop to learn more about who is running in Ward 12 and for mayor. You can find candidate websites, social media, and contact details directly through these pages.
Engage Directly
Don’t be shy about reaching out. Sending a thoughtful question to a campaign about an issue that matters to you is one of the best ways to learn where a candidate stands. Pay attention to how they respond:
• Are they timely and respectful?
• Do they answer your question directly?
• Do they show understanding of the community and citywide context?
The responsiveness and thoughtfulness of a candidate during a campaign is often a good indicator of how they will govern if elected.
Your Voice Matters
Municipal government is the level of government that most directly impacts our day-to-day lives. The more informed we are as voters, the stronger our community will be.
We encourage every resident of Mahogany to spend time learning about the candidates, talking with friends and neighbours, and heading to the polls with confidence.
Together, let’s make sure Ward 12 continues to have strong representation at City Hall.
