Hello Diamond Cove Residents,
First, I want to sincerely apologize for missing the past two deadlines for our community news. Like many of you, it has been a busy time, and since these newsletters must be written a month in advance, things sometimes slip through the cracks. I truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep you informed about our wonderful community.
Mark Your Calendars: AGM on April 23 – We Need You!
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is happening on April 23, 2025, and will be held at the Queensland Community Centre starting at 6:30 pm! This is your opportunity to hear important updates, share ideas, and help shape the future of Diamond Cove.
We will be looking for more board members! If you’re passionate about our community and want to get involved, we encourage you to attend the AGM. This is a great way to make a positive impact and help guide the direction of Diamond Cove.
Sidewalk Safety: Let’s Keep Diamond Cove Walkable
March in Calgary means a mix of winter and early spring weather, so please continue to clear your sidewalks after snowfalls. Icy pathways can be hazardous, especially for seniors, young children, and pet owners. If you’re using ice melt, consider pet-friendly options – our four-legged friends will thank you!
Planter Replacement on the Median
Good news! The City of Calgary has informed us that the planter damaged last year on the median will be replaced this season. We’re excited to bring more flowers and greenery to brighten our neighbourhood this spring and summer!
Spring Cleanup: Let’s Get Ready
As the snow melts, we’re gearing up for an annual Diamond Cove Spring Cleanup! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for event details. Whether it’s picking up windblown litter or tidying up common areas, every little bit helps keep Diamond Cove looking its best. We can all do this at any time of the year!
Dog Owners: Please Be Responsible
As winter transitions into spring, snow melts away to reveal what was left behind. Please pick up after your pets all the time, whether in the off-leash area or on others’ property. Let’s keep our community clean and respectful for all residents.
Drive Safely: Let’s Protect Each Other
A reminder to slow down, especially along our main roads and near crosswalks. Warmer weather means more pedestrians, cyclists, and children playing outside. Let’s all do our part to keep Diamond Cove safe.
Be a Neighbourly Hero
March is a time of transition – let’s make it easier for one another with small acts of kindness:
• Pick Up Litter – As the snow melts, let’s keep our neighbourhood looking fresh.
• Help a Neighbour – Whether it’s clearing lingering ice or running an errand, small gestures make a big difference.
• Check In on Others – The change in season can be tough for some. A friendly chat can brighten someone’s day.
March in Calgary: Winter Meets Spring
March is that in-between month – sometimes winter, sometimes spring! Here are a few seasonal tips and fun activities to enjoy in Calgary:
• Embrace the Last of Winter Fun – Enjoy one last run at local ski hills before they close for the season.
• Start Planning Your Garden – While it’s too early to plant, it’s a great time to start prepping seeds indoors or planning landscaping projects.
• Explore Calgary’s Outdoor Trails – As the weather warms, take a walk through Fish Creek Park, Nose Hill Park, or Glenmore Reservoir to soak up the fresh air.
Looking Ahead to Spring
Spring is a season of renewal, and as we move into warmer days, we have lots to look forward to in Diamond Cove. Whether it’s a Spring Cleanup, AGM, or just reconnecting as neighbours, let’s continue to make our community a welcoming and vibrant place.
Thank you for being part of Diamond Cove!
Warm regards,
Sonia Dantu
