Dear Diamond Cove Homeowners,
As the crisp days of fall settle in and we move toward the cozy months of winter, we hope this message finds you well.
First, a huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Parade of Garage Sales last month! We hope it was a successful and enjoyable event for you. A special shout-out again to our sponsor, Brenda Field from Royal LePage, whose support helped make this community event possible.
Halloween Reminder
With Halloween just around the corner, please drive with extra caution in our neighbourhood. Many young children are out trick-or-treating, and slowing down and staying alert can help ensure a safe and fun evening for all.
Helping Hands This Winter
As winter approaches, consider lending a hand to neighbours who might need it. Elderly residents or those with mobility challenges may appreciate help with snow shovelling, clearing walkways, or taking out their bins. Small acts of kindness make a big difference in our tight-knit community.
Christmas Light Contest Returns!
We are thrilled to announce that the Christmas Light Contest is back this year! Prizes will be awarded for first through third place, so start planning your festive displays. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season and showcase the beauty of Diamond Cove. Stay tuned for updates on other exciting events the board is planning for 2026.
Tax Levy Update
Homeowners should have, or will, receive information from the City of Calgary regarding the tax levy for 2026. This year, the levy will increase by 5%, which works out to $50.53 per household per year. While this is still not enough to make a major impact on our community projects, it will help us move forward on several goals, including landscaping, insurance, and general upkeep.
New Payment Option – e-Transfer
We are happy to announce that the HOA can now accept e-Transfers! If you would like to make a voluntary contribution to support community initiatives and enhancements, simply log in to your online banking and send an e-Transfer to [email protected], noting it as a contribution for community initiatives and enhancements. These funds will be set aside for important projects that are currently unfunded, such as repairs to the front entrance stucco, retaining walls, and other enhancements that help keep our neighbourhood beautiful.
Stay Connected and Safe
Please continue to keep an eye on your neighbours and be proactive in reporting any suspicious activity. Neighbourhood Watch is essential in helping maintain safety, and the police will accept home video footage if it is clear and relevant. Always call the police if there is an emergency or use the non-emergency line for other concerns. Working together keeps Diamond Cove safe and welcoming for all.
Community Engagement and Volunteer Opportunities
We always welcome volunteers and ideas for fundraising, which can help support our ongoing and future projects. Whether it’s helping with events, contests, or other initiatives, your involvement makes a difference. You can reach out to us anytime at [email protected].
Final Notes
Thank you to everyone for maintaining your homes and yards and for contributing to the overall beauty of Diamond Cove. By staying involved, staying connected, and supporting each other, we can continue to make this neighbourhood a place we are proud to call home.
We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events, including the Christmas Light Contest, and at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in spring 2026. This year’s AGM will include a Special General Meeting to approve a new set of bylaws, as required by our governing documents. Every homeowner has a vote, so your participation is important!
Wishing you a safe, joyful, and vibrant fall and winter season!
Warm regards,
Sonia Dantu
