Hello Diamond Cove residents,
I hope this message finds you well. Many of you have already noticed the exciting progress on our playground project, but for those who may have missed the news, I’m pleased to share that our community was selected to receive a fully accessible $300,000 playground funded entirely by the city, thanks to additional grant funding! Construction is now underway and will continue throughout the summer. Please note that the playground will be closed until its completion. While this may cause inconvenience, it’s all for a wonderful cause! Residents will also note that the crosswalks have finally been painted and the pedestrian signs have been installed by the playground. Please remember that there is a speed limit in Diamond Cove! To keep everyone safe, please be respectful of the speed limit and slow down or stop when you see pedestrians.
We are planning a small opening celebration for early in the fall, complete with hot dogs, juice, and plenty of fun. More details will follow, so please keep an eye on our community Facebook page for current updates.
In other news, all residents will soon receive information from the City of Calgary regarding the Diamond Cove special tax rate for 2025. This small amount helps cover essential services such as landscaping, planter maintenance, and winter snow removal from our pathways.
Looking ahead, our community faces opportunities and challenges. As a board and as a community, we need to explore fundraising initiatives to expand our efforts and enhance life in Diamond Cove. We are fortunate to have Dorothea Sautter from Royal LePage Benchmark generously sponsoring our Neighbour Days and the annual Parade of Garage Sales, typically held on the first Sunday in September. We extend our heartfelt thanks to her for her continued support.
A warm welcome to all new residents joining us! Please know that October’s newsletter will include important details about our upcoming Annual General Meeting, events planned for 2025, and more. If you’re new to Diamond Cove, I encourage you to join our Facebook page for the latest updates.
For those planning fence work this fall, Benjamin Moore Paint on Banister Road offers Diamond Cove fence paint. Remember, it’s the responsibility of each owner to maintain fences, and approved designs include fencing with lattice at the top, solid options, or chain link.
Thank you all for your ongoing support. Let’s continue to care for one another, look out for our neighbors, and together, keep our community beautiful and thriving. We encourage our community to reach out to the board at any time by emailing [email protected].
Warm regards,
Sonia Dantu
