Hello Queensland Diamond Cove Community,
We have had a lot of excitement at the community centre the past few months. CBC Eye Opener hosted an event at our community centre at the end of May, thanks to all the volunteers who helped to show what a great community we live in.
Happy 50 years to Queensland! Our anniversary event was created by Ian, Beth, and Judith and a lot of volunteers to make this day happen. 200 plus people came to the celebration, young and old had a great time visiting with local businesses: Flux Renewables, Strands Aesthetics and Hair Salon, Pho Vy Vietnamese, Jazzercise, TD bank, Prairie Donair, our MLA Myles McDougall, Stephanie Kusie our MP, and Stampede Princess Brooke Fielding was also in attendance. Pizza and cake were served; a great time was had by all.
The Community Cleanup with our friends from Deer Ridge was a great success. We filled three garbage trucks, one large bin filled with metal and seven bins filled with tech trash. We thank all the volunteers who have made this event a success year to year.
Cornerstone Music community party was also a great event that our community partnered with. The morning started off a bit rainy, but the clouds parted, and we enjoyed a sunny end to our day. Thank you to all the citizens of Deer Run, Deer Ridge, Queensland, and Diamond Cove communities who helped to make this day successful.

Our next family event will be on October 26, a Halloween Dance, free to member families and $10 for non-member families. Remember memberships expire on August 31, 2024, so please renew yours for $20.
