Queensland Diamond Cove Community Association President’s Message for October

Queensland cn

Hello,

I would like to congratulate Haultain Memorial School for the successful build of their new playground. The students and faculty of the school are all enjoying the hard work the parents and volunteers put in to building this wonderful structure this past August.

Diamond Cove has also been given a new playground provided by the City in August as well; this replaced the aging playground on the path to Fish Creek Park.

Please take the time to stop by these two new and improved play structures, you will have a hard time getting your children to go home.

Our upcoming Halloween Family Dance will take place on Saturday, October 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Pizza and drinks will be available for purchase at our concession along with other treats. As always, your membership will get you in for free, don’t worry if you do not have a membership, you can still attend for $10 per family. Children must be accompanied by an adult to attend. Costumes are encouraged.

Are you interested in renting a table for our craft and bake sale on November 16? Please contact Linda Brown at the community centre to reserve and pay for your table.

Rowhouse update: August 16 was the last day to submit your thoughts on the rowhouse across the street from the community centre. We are still waiting to find out the outcome of the review. From the closing date the city has 120 days to look at the feedback from the community along with the plans for the site. We should find out sometime in the middle of December. We will keep the community posted as to the outcome. Thank you to all those who took the time to submit their thoughts on this proposed development, it shows how invested we are in our community.

Upcoming community events: November 30 is our Children’s Christmas party from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.

Kind regards,

Martine
