Diamond Cove Homeowners Association President’s Message
Dear Diamond Cove Residents,
Spring has finally arrived, and with it comes a welcome sense of renewal. The snow is melting, the days are longer, and our neighbourhood is beginning to come alive again. This is the season where we reconnect, refresh our homes, and look ahead to what we want our community to feel like in the months ahead.
Diamond Cove has always been a neighbourhood defined by pride and neighbourly spirit. Spring is the perfect time to strengthen both.
Annual General Meeting – April 30
Our Annual General Meeting will be held Thursday, April 30, 6:30 pm at Queensland Community Centre – 649 Queensland Drive SE, Calgary.
This year’s AGM is especially important. The proposed updated 2026 Diamond Cove bylaws will be presented to the membership for review and approval.
These updated bylaws modernize our original 1996 document, align with the current Societies Act, clarify Board roles and responsibilities, and allow for modern communication practices. Importantly, no new fees or new community restrictions are being introduced.
This is your opportunity to:
· Ask questions
· Share feedback
· Vote on the proposed bylaws
· Learn more about how your HOA operates
And yes, we will be offering sweet treats to make the evening a little more enjoyable. We hope to see a strong turnout!
Bylaws Access and Neighbourhood Walk
Over the coming weeks, Board members will be walking through the neighbourhood to connect directly with homeowners.
During these visits we will:
· Share a QR code linking to the proposed 2026 bylaws
· Offer to email a digital copy upon request
· Answer questions where possible
· Invite homeowners to join our voluntary email list
If you would prefer to receive a copy electronically in advance, please email [email protected].
Building a Community Email List
Strong communication builds strong communities.
We are creating a voluntary Diamond Cove email list so we can more effectively share:
· AGM notices
· Community updates
· Event information
· Time-sensitive announcements
Providing your email is entirely optional. If you would like to be included, please share your home address and preferred email when we visit, or email us directly.
Spring Pride in Diamond Cove
Small individual efforts make a visible collective difference. As we move into the new season, we encourage residents to:
· Pick up litter in front of homes and along pathways
· Ensure pet waste is cleaned up promptly
· Inspect fencing for needed repairs
· Repaint exterior wood fencing “Diamond Cove White” where required
· Trim trees and shrubs away from sidewalks
· Refresh yards after winter wear
When each property reflects care, the entire neighbourhood benefits.
Looking Out for Neighbours
Spring is also a time to check in on one another. If you notice a neighbour who may appreciate help with yard cleanup or minor repairs, consider offering a hand. A small gesture, lending a tool, sharing advice, or simply saying hello, strengthens the sense of belonging that makes Diamond Cove special.
Planning for Neighbour Day
We are beginning early planning for Neighbour Day, Saturday, June 20, and look forward to bringing residents together once again. This is always a wonderful opportunity to:
· Meet new neighbours
· Reconnect with familiar faces
· Celebrate community pride
· Create a welcoming environment for families
More details will be shared soon. If you are interested in helping organize or volunteer, we would love to hear from you. Please check our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
A Community We Are Proud Of
Diamond Cove continues to be a neighbourhood many are proud to call home. That pride is built through participation, respect, and care for one another.
We encourage all homeowners to attend the AGM on April 30, review the proposed bylaws, and stay connected as we move into an active and positive spring season.
Thank you for being part of what makes Diamond Cove such a strong community.
Warm regards,
On behalf of the Diamond Cove Homeowners Association Board
Sonia Dantu
President
