Throwback Edition September Dinner and a Movie
September 20 at 6:00 pm
Winner of the Facebook poll is Land Before Time!
Food trucks on site from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Movie starts at 6:00 pm.
$3 for members and $5 for non-members. Cash concession!

Free Child ID Kits
September 20 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm
On September 20, before our Throwback Movie Night, the Calgary Heritage Lions will be handing out free Child ID Kits to any community parents who would like to have one for their child. This kit provides important information about your child such as fingerprints, DNA samples, dental and medical records, and other personal and physical information.
Together with your child, you complete the information on the enclosed card and then keep it in a safe place at your home. It is suggested that the information be updated yearly.
The kits may also be used for other individuals who may tend to wander off. If you are a parent or guardian who would benefit from having this kit, please come and see us at the Riverbend Community Centre on Friday, September 20 between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you.
The Calgary Heritage Lions Club meets at the Riverbend Community Centre the second and fourth Monday of every month. If you are interested in volunteering come out and see what we are about.
Fall Fair Vendor Applications Open September 1
We will be accepting vendor applications starting September 1, until September 30 for our Annual Fall Fair which will take place on November 2.

Riverbend 50/50 Draw
September 9 to October 21
The Riverbend Community Association loves doing things for our community and improving 18 Street is a top priority! To help us with the funds to do anything, we are launching our first 50/50 for Facility Beautification. Half the funds go to improving our community and half goes into one lucky winner’s wallet! Fall Parade of Garage Sales
September 14 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
The spring Parade of Garage Sales will take place on Saturday, September 14 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Registration opened August 1.

Spill the Beans Plantwise Cooking – Green Calgary Presentation
October 18 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
Green Calgary Association presents a free ‘Spill the Beans Plantwise Cooking’ workshop on October 18 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the Riverbend Community Association to learn practical ways to save money on food and reduce waste.
Did you know that more than 60% of food in Canada goes to waste? Discover practical solutions to curb food waste, save money on groceries, and combat global warming. Dive into easy meal planning strategies and uncover secrets to sourcing affordable and local produce.
We shall also briefly discuss home backyard composting and how to use vermicomposting worms. We shall also have worms onsite for hands-on demonstration.

Good Food Box Program
The content varies monthly, due to seasonal availability. The boxes contain the maximum produce to ensure our clients are getting the most value for the price.
• $30 Small Box (20 to 25 lbs.)
• $35 Medium Box (30 to 35 lbs.)
• $40 Large Box (40 to 45 lbs.)

55+ Cards and Coffee
Due to a lack of interest, we will no longer be hosting Seniors Cards and Coffee.
RCA Casino Fundraiser
Volunteers are needed for our 2024 Casino Fundraiser on Monday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 24. Fundraiser to be held at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino.
The RCA relies heavily on the funds raised at this event. About 25 volunteers in various roles are required for this event.
