Seniors Think Green at March Get Together
Traditionally, the month of March is celebrated by the Irish with the color green taking over in everything ranging from clothes to food and even drinks. The color green is also associated with sustainability. Conversations about “going green” and how it impacts the planet have become frequent among all generations. Therefore, the MLCA Seniors decided to incorporate both concepts at their March get together and the event turned out to be both educational and fun.
Mike Byerley, who is a member of the MLCA Sustainability Committee led the group in a discussion around new and impactful ways to go green in our community. From plastic bags to chemical products and eco-friendly homes to recycling, ideas on several ways in which to go green were brought up. Thank you to Mike for taking the time to help us understand the reasons for certain important measures and motivating us to follow them.
After this serious element of the agenda, the mood shifted to the Emerald Isle. Rick and his Timeless Reflections band were back again to entertain us, this time with Irish music, and got the attendees singing along.
