The Cedarbrae Community League Association (CCLA) is guided by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, elected by the members of our community. The Board meets at the Cedarbrae Community Centre on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm, with the exception of July and August.
As it is November, we’d like to acknowledge and honour all those who have served and sacrificed for the peace and prosperity we enjoy today. Please take moments this month to recognise all those who have, and continue to serve us: active service members, veterans, peace officers, and their families. Watch for donation boxes and wear a poppy as a way of showing your thanks.
Now that the weather has cooled, our Tuesday night hangouts at the Centre will most often be held indoors. The consensus for an indoor activity thus far is board games. We hope to gather a library of games so we can host all ages and skill levels. Any complete, good condition board games you’re not using? Consider donating them to the Centre. Better yet, come join us as we build a group of neighbours having some weeknight fun!
We recently hosted the advance voting for the municipal election. It was amazing to see so many new faces come through the Centre. To all of you who came in, please know that we welcome your involvement in our community activities. Check out our upcoming events, come to the evening hangouts, or find an opportunity to volunteer.
All the events happening at the Centre are only possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of our amazing volunteers. Are you looking to improve your skills? Want to add some volunteering to your resume or school applications? We welcome you to come find an opportunity to share your expertise and passion with your community! We are currently looking for grant writers for a variety of potential projects to upgrade our Community Centre and make it accessible to everyone in our neighbourhood. We’d also love to partner with a volunteer who is experienced in website design and maintenance. Get in touch if you’d like to take on this or another exciting new challenge!
