I hope your summer is going well and you’ve had a chance to relax with family and friends.
We’re getting so close to getting occupancy of the new hall, which is very exciting. The building is looking great, inside and out, and we’re scheduled to start programming for September. Thank you to our Strategic Planning and Marketing Committee for the many hours they’ve spent to make all of this happen. Please take a look at the construction update included in this newsletter, and for more information on the build, and other CKE news, check out our website at ckecommunity.com. We are still looking for fundraising ideas and donations to complete a few of the projects and upgrades. If you’re interested in helping out, we can provide a tax receipt
We’re hoping you’re able to join us for our Grand Opening celebration on September 15 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Our planning committee has been working hard to put this together. This event will be preceded by our annual Recycle Day, starting at 9:00 am, in the Henry Wise Wood parking lot. Stay tuned for more details about both events.
For those who were lucky enough to get tickets and attend the Backyard Will concert, it was another great night, so I was told. Thanks again to Doug, the event sponsors, and those who helped out with the event. The proceeds from this concert have been going to fund the tennis court renovations scheduled to happen next spring. We also wanted to give a big shout out to Kim Flanagan of Evolved Style, and her sponsors, for hosting her July neighborhood fundraising event, Stampede to the Runway. Guests enjoyed a fashion show, brunch refreshments, cocktails and pool-side pop-up shops. I’m told it was a great event. Proceeds from this party will go to the CKE. Thank you, Kim!
