Community Updates
Padel Club Calgary
They will be building a new outdoor centre and padel courts in Patterson Heights beside the former Alberta Badminton Centre. This project is led by longtime padel advocate, Bill Stamile.
The courts will be built next to the old Badminton Centre. The building remains vacant as the City of Calgary determines next steps for the property. The club has met with the community association again and is committed to working with residents, including exploring opportunities for community programming. Nearby homes will receive more information about the development soon—stay tuned.
Bikes
The weather is warming up and more of us are taking our bikes out. The Calgary Police use the Bike Index to recover suspicious or stolen bikes. Register your bike for free – this will help if your bike is ever stolen at https://bikeindex.org/.
Rain Barrels from Bowness High School Music Program
The City anticipates more outdoor water restrictions this summer. If you want to keep your lawn green and flowers blooming, consider purchasing a rain barrel from the Bowness High School music program.
● March 1 to April 17, 2026
● They will be selling rain barrels, installation kits, and accessories to help residents conserve water.
Orders can be placed at rainbarrel.ca/bhsmpa. Barrels can be delivered to your home for a small fee or picked up at Bowness High School on April 24 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funds raised support instruments, repairs, sheet music, and student participation in music clinics and festivals. Bowness High School is one of our designated High Schools.
