Counting Down to the Solstice: Edible Gifts Workshop with Janet Melrose

November 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm

Now more than ever homemade gifts are valued by all, and especially so if they are edible! Everyone has their family traditions for baking and other tasty treats, but there is a world of edible gifts to make the season special for your family and friends.

This workshop includes:

• Learning about the lore of the Solstice and the celebrations around it

• Traditions of gifting with edibles

• Tips for planning your gifting-sourcing items not grown at home and/or harvesting those that you either grow yourself or forage for

• The range of edible gifting including ideas and techniques

• A selection of edible gifts – Immune Booster Tea, Herb Mix, Soup in a Jar, Barbeque Rub, Mint Sugar Scrub, and Dried Fruit Ornaments

• Finishing touches and decorations that are either edible themselves or are made from upcycled materials

Members: $50 | Non-Members: $65

Holiday Market

Sunday, November 24 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm

If you are looking for an artisan fair with an assortment of handmade items, look no further than our Holiday Market! If you would like to book a table as a vendor, please contact us at [email protected].

Donations to the Calgary Food Bank will be accepted and are greatly appreciated.

Members: $20 per table | Non-members: $30 per table

CHOA Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Thursday, November 28 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm

All members in good standing are invited to attend the AGM. Notice will be circulated via email for all members on the email distribution list, and a hard copy via Canada Post will be sent for those without. All accompanying documents (Audited Financials, copies of existing Bylaws and the proposed replacement (draft) bylaws, Minutes from 2023, Proxy form, etc.) will be available online in the members only section of the website.

As found in the AGM Notice, a Special Resolution is being put forward to replace the Bylaws of the CHOA.

Registration will begin at 6:30 pm, and all residents are required to produce one piece of government issued photo identification. Voting numbers will be assigned (one vote per household).

Fall Programs

The fall program session of classes runs from September to December. Register for classes online, or through the office. Classes require a minimum of six participants to run. Drop-in and pro-rated options are available. Youth ages 16+ may be able to register for adult programs.

50 + Yoga with Vanitha

Thursdays, weekly until December 5 from 9:30 to 10:45 am

Whether you are 50 or 75, it is never too late to take up yoga! You are only as old as you feel. Specially adapted yoga exercises can awaken the body’s powers of regeneration, leading to more energy, enhanced physical well-being, and a more positive attitude towards life. People under 50 and beginners are also welcome.

Member rate: $262 or $20 per class drop-in | Non-member rate: $280 or $22 per class drop-in

Sportball

Offered at Crestmont hall on Fridays and Sundays. Non-competitive sports programs for every kid, at every stage. Please visit Sportball Calgary’s website for details and registration.

Program Space
