DRCA Tennis Court Update – New Gate Locks for 2026 Season
By the time you read this update, hopefully spring has sprung in Discovery Ridge! We are looking forward to another great season of tennis in our community. With the popularity of our courts, the DRCA last year installed new gates with lock codes, although the locks have so far been disabled to allow full access. The intent is to ensure the courts are available to DRCA members.
We are still working out the final logistics on how the lock code will be communicated to members – stay tuned for further updates.
The new locks have simple push-button codes, and we will have the ability to periodically update the combination. While this system is not foolproof, we do believe it will either limit use by non-members or conversely encourage more users to purchase an annual membership. Remember that the DRCA self-funds the community recreation facilities and court access will be included in the low $25 annual household membership fee. One more reason to buy a membership!
In addition to member communication via email and other channels, we will provide signage at the courts and contact information to obtain the lock code although response times may vary based on availability of our volunteers. We of course ask that members do not share the code and always ensure the gates are closed at all times.
See you on the courts!
