Discovery Ridge’s President’s Message for November

With the municipal election now over, the DRCA is looking forward to working with our new Ward 6 councillor. As you may recall back on October 12, the DRCA along with other Ward community associations held an all candidates debate to better understand each candidate’s views on various topics. The DRCA continues to be a strong advocate for traffic safety in the community and fire safety in Griffith Woods. We also looking forward to working with the new councillor on encouraging the city to connect Discovery pathways to other existing pathways for walking and biking.

With December around the corner, the DRCA will be encouraging everyone to participate in the DRCA Christmas Parade of Lights to create a winter wonderland of lights for Discovery residents to walk or drive around the neighbourhood from December 15 to January 1.

Lastly, if you see any illegal activity or firepits in Griffith Woods, have any traffic safety issues, or if any public restrictions regarding COVID are being ignored in the community, please call 311 so the City can track feedback and take any necessary action. Please note that the DRCA does not have the power to enforce bylaws or public health restrictions.

Stay safe and healthy.
