Eligibility
Open to amateur home gardeners who design, build (at least 50%), and maintain their gardens.
Residency: Residents of Evergreen.
Judging
Dates: First and second weekends of August 2024.
Criteria: Design and overall effect, plant material variety and condition, use of lawns and hardscaping, and unique features.
Scoring: Each criterion is scored 1 to 20, with a maximum total of 80 points.
Rules
1. Amateur Gardeners Only: No professional landscaping within the last two years (except certain hardscaping services).
2. Local Contest: Open to Evergreen residents only.
3. Judging Conduct: Interference with judges may result in disqualification.
4. Prohibited Plants: Gardens with noxious weeds will face penalties or disqualification.
5. Photography: Entry grants permission for promotional photography.
6. Judges’ Decisions: Final and binding.

Evergreen Residence: Free
Awards
Prizes: For Top 3 finishers and two honourable mentions.
Recognition: Winners will receive a certificate and photo of their garden.
