Message from the CECA Board
Hello Evergreen residents,
Winter is usually a busy and exciting season for CECA, and it’s been wonderful to see our community come together once again. Our Winter Festival on February 14 was a great success, with a fantastic turnout of families enjoying skating, wagon rides, and other winter activities.
A big thank-you to Calgary Police Service and Calgary Public Library for bringing their vehicles for kids to explore – they were a huge hit. We’re also very grateful to our sponsors (Eric Bouchard, MLA for Calgary-Lougheed, Asian Buffet, Kenko Sushi, Ishii Sushi, Peters Home Solution, and Tuk Tuk Thai) and volunteers whose time and generosity made this event possible. These events truly don’t happen without you.
Easter Egg Hunt
March 28 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at 243 Everstone Drive SW.
This is one of our most popular annual events and has been organized by CECA for over ten years. Indeed, it is becoming a tradition! Each year, more than 500 parents and children come out to enjoy the fun and, of course, the free Easter chocolate generously donated by Evergreen Shoppers Drug Mart.
Board of Directors
We’re seeking volunteers to join our Board of Directors as Grants Director and Traffic and Safety Director. These roles require about six to eight hours per month and offer a chance to give back while building skills in a supportive, professional team. We especially encourage younger community members to apply, and full onboarding support is provided. If a board role isn’t the right fit, there are many other ways to get involved.
CECA Membership
Residents are encouraged to purchase or renew their CECA membership. Memberships can be completed online at www.myceca.ca/membership. CECA is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization, and membership fees and donations directly support our events, programs, and community amenities, including the ice rink. Your support helps us continue offering meaningful activities for all ages in Evergreen.
A sincere thank you to everyone who supports CECA through donations, volunteering, or simply showing up to events. Special thanks as well to Marshall Springs School for their ongoing support in providing water for flooding the community ice rink.
To stay connected, please follow/like the Calgary Evergreen Community Association Facebook and Instagram pages or visit our website www.myceca.ca regularly for updates.
As always, your ideas, feedback, and questions are welcome. Please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].
Warm regards,
Mohamd Sltan
