Message from the CECA Board
Dear Evergreen Residents,
I hope this message finds you and your families well. As we move through the year, I would like to share a few updates about the activities and services your Community Association continues to provide.
Our association remains committed to strengthening community connections and supporting Evergreen residents through a variety of programs and services. Volunteers and board members continue to work behind the scenes organizing community initiatives, maintaining engagement with residents, and supporting events that bring neighbours together.
One of the amenities many residents have enjoyed over the years is the outdoor community ice rink during the winter season. Unfortunately, we may not be able to install the rink next season. Kevin, a dedicated Evergreen resident who has generously volunteered his time for many years to install and maintain the rink, will no longer be able to take on this responsibility.
We would like to sincerely thank Kevin for the incredible effort and dedication he has shown to the community over the years.
That said, we would love to keep the rink alive if possible. The rink typically operates from November or December through March, depending on weather conditions. To make this happen, we need a group of volunteers willing to organize, install, and help maintain the rink throughout the season. If you and a few neighbours are interested in helping lead this effort, please reach out to us.
Looking ahead, one of our most popular annual events is returning: the Evergreen Community Cleanup Day, scheduled for Saturday, September 5. This event helps residents dispose of household items responsibly and keeps our neighbourhood clean. We will share the exact location and timing closer to the date.
We are also currently looking for a volunteer Grant Director. This role helps the association identify and apply for grants that support community projects, events, and improvements. If you have experience with grant writing or would like to contribute in this way, we would love to hear from you.
Anyone interested in volunteering, helping with the ice rink, or serving as Grant Director can contact us at [email protected].
Evergreen is a strong community because of the people who step forward to help. Whether it is volunteering at events, supporting programs, or simply staying engaged, every contribution helps make our neighbourhood a better place to live.
Thank you for being part of Evergreen.
Warm regards,
Mohamd Sltan
