Hello residents!
June is the busiest month of the season for CECA. We had our monthly Seniors’ Hobnob meeting, Parade of Garage Sales, and Community Cleanup event. Our gardening contest is open till July 31.
The annual Community Cleanup was another success thanks to the team of volunteers from the community and CECA’s board of directors. I would like to thank the administration team of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Evergreen for allowing us to use the parking area to host this huge event serving our beautiful community.
Our team is growing. We work in a fun-filled, cooperative, and enthusiastic environment. We have filled in all the director positions, yet we are still looking for a Community Permits Director. You can also help us by volunteering in our numerous events and programs. Do you wonder what happens at Calgary Evergreen Community Association board meetings?
As residents of Calgary Evergreen, you are always welcome at the monthly CECA Board meeting. By attending the meeting, you will learn what is happening in the community, see what goes on behind the scenes, but most of all learn how you can help.
At the meeting you can expect to hear and learn:
• Updates on community matters such as crime, roads, and anything else that affects Evergreen.
• Updates on community events and program planning.
• Discussion around new projects, and what will develop in Evergreen.
• Grant initiatives that will help the community with events, programs, and development.
• Updates from community partners like our City of Calgary Neighbourhood Partnership Coordinator, the MLA’s office of Calgary-Heritage, and the City Councillor’s office of Ward 13.
• Community financial updates.
• Find out how you can get involved and help out!
• Meet new faces and network with others that also live in your community. You may be neighbours!
• Neighbours working together to help the community grow!
Stop by to learn more about what the Calgary Evergreen Community Association does and is up to. We meet in the Jets Room in Cardel Rec South; 333 Shawville Blvd SE. Meetings are on the second Thursday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. (no meeting in July). The meeting calendar is posted on our website, www.myceca.ca.
