Dear Neighbours,
Welcome to the November edition of the Glendale Thumper — my first edition as editor.
In case you missed it in the October Thumper, I’ve lived in Glendale for five years now with my husband Chris and our three-year-old daughter, Ophelia. In that time, I’ve grown to truly love this neighbourhood. I appreciate how easy it is to bike downtown (although that hill on the way back is not so fun), and how close we are to the train. I brag to friends that we have one of the best local pizza places in Calgary, and continue to marvel at how I can jump in the car and be hiking in the mountains in the time it takes many people to commute to work. And have you walked down 25 Avenue, near the outdoor rink, on an autumn afternoon when the leaves have changed colour and everything is bathed in the warm glow of the sun? It’s gorgeous. We live in a beautiful community, one filled with kind and friendly neighbours.
I’d like to learn more about why you love this neighbourhood. Stories and photos from community members are welcome. So, tell me: what are you passionate about? I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about our wonderful community.
